6 Chairs for Sitting Cross Legged

Posted on November 27, 2022November 27, 2022 By Harry Ligma No Comments on 6 Chairs for Sitting Cross Legged

The nature of the workplace has changed in the last few years, with many organizations opting for a more relaxed, casual environment.

This has manifested itself through dress codes, office layouts, furniture and facilities. On top of this, the coronavirus pandemic triggered the beginning of an explosion in the amount of people working from home.

See, this changed way of working has led to many people changing the way that they sit and many office or gaming chairs are designed in a similar way.

Many people like to sit cross legged, which can be difficult within the constraints of traditionally designed office or gaming chairs.

This is due to the limited space available on the seat, positioning of the arm rests and the angle of the back of the chair. Since there are so many chairs out there, but not many that cater to this particular style of sitting, we will be breaking down a few chairs for sitting cross legged.

Table of Contents

    Pipersong

It is rare that chairs are designed with cross legged sitting in mind but the Pipersong meditation chair is an excellent example of it. The main chair is connected to a separate footrest, which can be swiveled out of the way if you want to sit upright without using it.

The chair is designed ergonomically to facilitate sitting cross legged, with a high density foam seat cushion to ensure the extra pressure does not feel uncomfortable after extended periods. The base of the chair is a durable steel and the padded sections are covered with a polyurethane leather for easy cleaning.

The footstool can be swiveled 360 degrees around the main chair and the small backrest provides a 120 degree lumbar support. The entire chair and the footstool are finished in a clean white color, although there are no other available options.

    Hbada Executive

While the Hbada Ergonomic Executive chair is not specifically designed for sitting cross legged, it features a very large seat that allows for it quite comfortably. The chair is quite sizable and made from sponge and cotton, bound in a high-quality PU leather.

To add to its functionality for sitting cross legged, the arms of the chair can be completely flipped up to allow extra space. The adjustability doesn’t stop there, since the seat can be raised or lowered and the back of the chair can be tilted to a more relaxed position. The chair can be swiveled 360 degrees and it is set on wheels for ease of movement around your room or office.

    Astro Pro

This next option is specifically geared toward gaming and comes with a number of features that make sitting cross legged a viable option.

Some gaming chairs can be physically restrictive but the Astro Pro has a wide seat base to allow more relaxed seating positions.

Adjustability is prominent here since the chair has a 360 degree swivel, height adjustable seat and a rocking function.

The main beneficial feature here is the pop out footrest that extends the base of the seat outwards to allow extra space for cross legged sitting or a more relaxed body position. The armrests can also be raised or lowered for more traditional office style working or gaming.

As well as these great adjustability features, the Astro Pro comes with a removable head pillow and lumbar support.

The entire chair is finished with an understated black coloring and gray detailing. The prominence of the Astro Pro logo gives the chair a more sporty feel, appealing to eSports audiences. In terms of materials, the chair is a PU leather with a durable steel frame.

    Big Bertha Original

We have covered a more traditional office chair, something for gaming and a piece designed specifically for cross legged sitting but next up we have a totally different option. The Big Bertha is a bean bag that comes in a variety of colors with or without a footstool.

This wide-based, high-backed bean bag is manufactured from a soft cord fabric with a woven material beneath for a durable, comfortable feel.

While this chair will not allow effective office working or PC gaming, it will allow you to sit cross legged to watch movies, play console games, hang out with friends or simply relax.

    AKRacing Max

Here we have another gaming chair option that is designed for big and tall players, which means it is perfect for sitting cross legged. The seat base is very large, and the adjustable arms mean that sitting in this position is easy to accommodate.

In terms of build, the AKRacing Max features an all metal frame, a PU leather material finish and a range of color options. It is set on wheels and can be raised and lowered to your liking. The chair can also be tilted and comes with a detachable headrest and lumbar pillows.

If you want to have an option to sit cross legged with all of the functionality of a gaming chair, the AKRacing Max is an excellent choice.

    Soul Seat

Lastly we have an intriguing option that is fairly similar to the Pipersong seat mentioned earlier, without a backrest or footstool. The Soul Seat is specifically designed for sitting cross legged, with a two-layered seat design set in a PU leather material on a steel base. The seat is soft, with a renewable wool material inside to ensure comfort for longer sessions.

Both seat levels can be raised and lowered and the chair is available in a wide range of color options. It is also available in two different size options to accommodate different body types.

    Our Thoughts

While there are not many chairs specifically designed for sitting cross legged, we have outlined a few options with a range of aesthetics, features and price ranges. Whether you opt for something specifically designed for this style of sitting or something larger to accommodate it as an option, you will not be disappointed.
