Looking to add lighting your gaming room? You have definitely come to the right place – we explore a tonne of different gaming lighting ideas on how to illuminate your space.
We discuss some of the different styles and types – then what recommended product do I actually recommend exploring – if that’s the gaming room lighting solutions you are wanting.
Personally, I like to have several various lighting sources for a gaming space and set up rather than just relying on one. Right, so let’s get to it.
LED RGB Light Desk

I think one of the best and simplest methods to turn any standard workspace into gaming room is to attach some LED lighting to the desk. It’s super simple but it works a treat.
It’s just creates an instantly better gaming experience and it is not too expensive nor too difficult to to do either. Just pick up some RGB LED lighting strip – that has a bit of stick to it – then you can attach it to your desk and see how it ‘lights up your space’.
If this is an area that you are specifically keen on – we have gone ahead and created a how to guide here.
Integrated LED Gaming Desks
This takes the above – and takes it that bit further. Instead of getting a regular desk and then what I think you’re doing which is is ‘gamifying’ the desk with an LED light strip.
There are plenty of gaming desks that already have this feature built in already. Of course, some do it a lot better than others. On the whole I don’t really think ‘gaming’ desks per se are worth it – unless you’re carrying some serious weight with dual or triple monitors – but in the case above.
I think you have to make the exception.
Nanoleaf

Nanoleaf are great. Get them synced up with your gamign experience and they are even better. They look sleek and as they can be attached – pretty much anywhere – they can turn empty walls into spaces that can illuminate your gaming room.
Corsair I know with their iCue software has even synced it with game play. That’s why I think above the monitor or at least in your peripheral vision works well. If you’re a streamer though – you could want them somewhat behind you. Either way – they are a super cool lighting idea for gaming rooms.
PC Case RGB Lights

I mean I think these sort of go without saying right? But getting your PC rig filled with RGB everything is always a great way to ‘add’ to the lighting of your gaming setup. RGB Fans and wiring are the range and there’s even specialised LCD screens that Corsair have come out with that sit inside your PC case.
Pretty cool – and there’s no way to tell me that this isn’t a great lighting feature in of itself coupled with a bunch of RGB lighting – you’ve got a great lighting set up underway.
Neon Signage

I think Neon signs and different neon decor pieces are a great ‘alt’ way of getting lighting rather than just getting a standard lamp or tube to actually do them. They act as part decor and part lighitng, rather than just one or the other.
Get creative with your set up and can it can really give it a different kind of look and tone. They can be a little expensive for high quality ones, but totally worth it – if you are going to be in your gaming room set up often.
Key Lights

These are the LED lights that you see above the PC case on the right and the vertical monitor on the left -they are sold by Elgato I believe and are awesome for those gamers who want to be streamers as well.
What I really love is that they can be controlled by the Stream Deck (we’ve actually taken a good look into these comparing the original with the MK.2 as well as the original Vs the new plus). that you see just next to the PC case – it’s just cool having that level of control right at your finger tips and creates a professional overall look as well.
LED Monitor Bars

LED monitor bars are definitely becoming more of a staple desk accessory for gaming rooms recently, they sit as you would expect above the monitor and really help to light up the gaming desk to see what you’re doing – rather than needing the ‘big light’ on the gaming room.
They are pretty good value overall and add a nice bit of sophistication the overall set up. Definitely recommended for those times that you want a more cosy feel but still want to see what you’re actually doing on the keyboard as well.
Beam Wall Lights

These LED Beams are cool as hell. They have a fantastic finish and you can set them up pretty much how you want it. They are definitely for those who are quite brave with their set up though. As you can see from the above, it is pretty domineering throughout the room.
They can be used to create a bit of an ambiance in the room and in turn allow you to get your ‘game on’. For the good quality ones they can be a bit pricey but overall a fantastic addition as a lighting accessory to any gaming room overall.

Philips Hue Lamps
For those who are a little unsure about LED strips – getting Philips Hue lights are great way to achieve this effect. From the app you can simply change the color to whatever kind of look and feel you’re feeling as you go about gaming.
Specifically to get the most out of these look up “Hue Play” to really get the most out of them whilst gaming and you can take it away from there.
Galaxy Skylights
Another rather different way of lighting up your set up is with the galaxy sky light projector style lights. There’s actually quite a lot of different options out there but they create more of a mystic effect than your standard lights we have mentioned above.
Plus, they don’t tend to be static in nature either – you can get it to transform all over your gaming room set up. Work fantastic for small spaces like a gaming bedroom.
