How to Wall Mount Your Xbox

Posted on December 23, 2022December 23, 2022 By Harry Ligma No Comments on How to Wall Mount Your Xbox

Many people now own an Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S and are considering ways to integrate it into their gaming setup.

These consoles are quite large, particularly the Xbox Series X and therefore it can be difficult to seamlessly slot it into your home environment.

One method that people have turned to is to wall mount their Xbox consoles, to free up space in their setup and allow easy access to the console.

Here we will explore reasons why you may want to wall mount your Xbox console, identify some existing products and discuss the practicalities.

Table of Contents

    Why wall mount an Xbox?

As mentioned above, some Xbox models are quite large. This means that wall mounting your console can free up space in your gaming setup.

It can also be beneficial for cooling the console, since the Xbox won’t be resting on a surface at all. If you have pets or small children, you may want to keep your console out of reach to keep it safe.

Being wall mounted also reduces the risk of damage from spills. Aside from these practical reasons, it can also just look pretty cool and will certainly turn heads when people visit.

    Xbox console dimensions and weights

Although we are well and truly into the next generation of consoles, the previous generation is still played by millions of gamers worldwide. Many games are still simultaneously releasing across platforms, so we will be breaking down the weight and dimensions of the various Xbox consoles below.

    ConsoleDimensionsWeight
    Xbox One78.7 x 332.7 x 275mm3.54 kg
    Xbox One S295 x 230 x 65mm 2.9 kg
    Xbox One X59.9 x 300 x 240mm3.81 kg
    Xbox Series S65 x 151 x 275mm 1.93 kg
    Xbox Series X301 x 151 x 151 mm 4.4 kg

As you can see, the Xbox Series S is by far the smallest and lightest Xbox there is, due to the lack of disk drive and streamlined design. The Xbox Series X is rather bulky and heavier than any previous Xbox console.

    Xbox Wall Mounting Products

Of course, with the dimensions outlined above those of you who are more creatively gifted will be able to make your own Xbox wall mounting system.

For most people, it will be far more convenient to buy a specifically designed product, which we will identify below.

    Xbox One

The original Xbox One console is only available in black, outside of some very limited special edition consoles.

This first option called the Horizontal Wall Mount Bracket Holder is available in black steel to match this aesthetic.

This wall bracket is easy to install and the Xbox One can easily slide in securely while leaving some room for ventilation.

There are dedicated holes cut into the bracket for the power cable and disk tray button.

    Xbox One S

This next option for the slightly smaller Xbox One S is a design consisting of three legs.

These legs are white to match the slimmer Xbox One version, which can easily be screwed into a wall.

The material is a 3D printed PLA plastic which is both durable and stable.

The Xbox One S wall bracket is also very cheap, saving some cost in your overall gaming setup.

    Xbox One X

The Xbox One X Wall mount is a relatively simple solution that will allow you to mount the first 4K gaming console with ease. It has a minimalistic design with a lightweight steel frame.

The smaller nature of this bracket means that none of the ports or vents are blocked, allowing full cooling and connectivity.

To fit the console into this wall mount, it simply snaps in. This means that there is a very easy installation.

    Xbox Series S

The Xbox Series S is a technological marvel, cramming next generation performance into a very small form factor.

The Q-View Xbox Series S Wall Mount Bracket will allow you to safely secure your console to your wall.

Featuring an X design and tight clips, your Series S will be safely attached to the wall.

There is also a dedicated ventilation system with honeycomb style vents. It is also built to last, using a white ABS plastic that is delivered in a recyclable packaging.

    Xbox Series X

The Xbox Series X is the world’s most powerful video game console, but it is also rather bulky and heavy which makes wall mounting it a challenge.

Luckily the Hosanwell Xbox Series X Wall Mount Bracket offers a handy solution that comes with some additional utility.

This product features a wall mounting cradle for the console itself, manufactured with a high quality material and 5 screws to keep this heavy console in place.

As well as the holder for the console, there are detachable mounts for two controllers and a headset.

These holders easily attach to the base of the wall mount, freeing up even more room in your gaming setup.

These holders are complete with non-slip mats to keep your precious equipment in place.

The Series X can get pretty hot during intense gaming sessions, so the Hosanwell provides heat dissipation holes on the bottom of the unit to allow sufficient air flow.

    Our Thoughts

Microsoft’s Xbox range of consoles have been enjoying stellar success in recent times through the introduction of the Game Pass service.

This subscription service combined with Microsoft’s aggressive approach to game studio acquisitions and exclusive titles means that there is no better time to be an Xbox gamer.

There are many reasons that you may wish to wall mount your Xbox console.

Whether it is to free up space or keep your console safe from hazards around the house, it can be a great solution.

No matter which version of Microsoft’s console you own, there is a high quality product available to purchase if you are not handy enough to create your own.

Even the larger, heavier models can be accommodated to securely hold your console as well as additional gaming equipment.
