Corner gaming desk setups can look great – when you do two simple things.
i) Make sure that the set up is clean
ii) Have some LED RGB lights to help create an ambiance.
Nowadays, there is a bunch of L Shaped Gaming Desk with LED Lights, however you also have the option to add your own as well.
Here we’re going to take a look through some of our favorite corner ‘L’ shaped desks that have the LED lights already fitted but we are going to also look at ways you can ‘add’ LEDs to a desk as well.
Choosing a Gaming Corner Shaped Desk with LED Lights
When it comes to finding one – you actually have a quite a few options to go at – so here we are going to breakdown some our favorites – to point you in the right direction in terms of research.
L Shaped Gaming Desk with LED Lights by Bestier
This is a super clean design that comes in a larger size and medium size and available in four different colours (the look of the Black version looks particularly cool).
You will notice that the LED strip (that changes across 20 different colors) anas well as a range of uses). sits just above the shelf – where they will probably indicate to you that’s where the monitor goes.
What is particularly good about this desk and the options available is that it gives you the chance to have the home office vibe if you want it to be – or if you want to go all out gaming. Definitely worth checking out.
L-Shape Gaming Desk by Inbox Zero
Now this corner gaming desk is a bit pricier but I think that’s many because it can hold more weight (holding up to 200lbs).
Plus, you will notice that the LED strips here are placed on the ends of each of the table of the whole L.
This is something that you might want to consider – but certainly gives a space for those who are looking for two functional and separate desks from one another.
60″ L Shaped RGB LED Gaming DeskBy EUREKA ERGONOMIC
When you were searching for an LED L Shaped gaming desk – I can guarantee you – that yuou were not thinking of anything like this.
Quite frankly this is an awesome desk.
Where the LEDs are lighting go along the whole way of the desk but it is actually built into the desk itself- it gives a fantastic look to the whole set up.
I’ve definitely not seen anything like this and offers a pretty impressive max weight of 330lbs. What a fantastic design – usually I’d advocate for trying to build something yourself – but you’re going to have difficulties replicating this yourself.
Here’s What I Would Do
If none of the above models really speak to you – and you have a specific design in mind. I would be heavily tempted to mod it out myself with the LED lights.
Essentially, choose an L Shaped gaming desk that you:
- Like the look of it from an appearance perspective (it might be the case that it needs to dual up as an office desk).
- It fits your budget, you should come up with a reasonable price tag in mind and try to stick to that.
- Then it also fits the necessary specifications, is it the right size – can it hold your monitor – what’s the max weight capacity etc.
Then I would fit it out with my own custom LED strips.Personally, I think a desk should offer at least LED strips that run along the back of the desk and not just the sides.
As this allows the lighting to shine up against the back of the wall and gives a great look to the overall gaming setup – especially in smaller areas.
How to Add LED RGB Lights to Your Desk
We all know that – you can’t have too much RGB right?
Well, if you ever wanted to – ‘add’ – to your already LED integrated L shaped corner desk – you actually have a bunch of options.
As you can see from th pre-built models – a lot of them just contain LED strips – but it doesn’t mean you have to stop there.
Here we are going to explore some additional ways you can add to the experience.
Add LED Strips

If you are unsure – I’ve literally got a guide on how to do that right here.
One of the simplest ways is literally to add more LED mini strips to the undersides of your desk – around the brim and so on.
This is great for those who just have a standard L desk and want to integrate it with the LED lighting.
The trick is to make sure that the LED strips themselves aren’t visible to the naked eye but are positioned in a way to create an illuminating effect (i.e they don’t want to be too hidden).
If you’re looking for a recommendation of what LED strip to get – really like the Elgato Mini Strips – sure they are a bit expensive but they are ARGB – so they can be completely custom designed to how you want it.
So you can get a blend of colors like the picture above.
LED Panels

You often get ‘LED panels’ for walls and there are a bunch of companies who make – I believe the most popular is Nanoleaf – and you could attach those to your desk on the outside as well which would be a pretty awesome look as you walked in.
Whether it is attached to your desk or on the wall shining on to the desk. They don’t even have to be that size either – Corsair came out recently with a range of mini versions that are meant for your PC rig – but you can still attach them to an L Shaped desk.
Feature Lighting

What do I mean by ‘Feature Lighting’? Basically a lighting source that is a bit different to your typical lights.
See above, you have an LED lightning lamp with a backboard with LED embeds in the pegboard that they are using for all their storage.
Basically, it is an excuse to get a bit creative with your lighting sources – and don’t just use it as a functional piece but instead, something that ‘adds’ to the decorative aspect of your gaming room.
Desk Lighting Accessories

As you are probably more than aware – there are a bunch of lighting accessories that you can get that typically sit on you desk anyway.
Everything from your gaming mouse to gaming mouse pads – to the PC rig itself. There are a whole bunch of items that you can have sit on your gaming desk.
Hook them up to a Stream Deck (100% recommended – whether you’re just looking for productivity boosts or just want to make life a whole lot simpler) and you can change it all at the touch of a button.
Lighting Towers
You’re going to think I am a bit of a Corsair fanboy at this point – and you’d be right. They also offer a couple of lighting towers that I think work really well to help create an immersive gaming experience.
They call them the LT100 lighting towers.
Having this synced up with your LED Elgato Mini strips allows you to create a super gaming experience – where the game interacts with the LED setup you have – creating an immersive type experience.
I think this is best executed in the example above where they are playing Far Cry 5 – and you can see how it changes as you progress through the game – the lights are superb.
It does seem a little pricey – when you think about it – but the experience it products kind of actually makes it worth it.
